The 8 Centum Proseccos arrived in South Africa recently and I was keen to try it out. There are currently the Brut, Rosé and Extra Dry styles available of this Prosecco.
In the glass, it has a light-yellow colour with a green hue. Although the bubbles started off with a thick foam head, they unfortunately lost some vibrancy and the bubbles disappeared soon after, leaving a still wine behind. The taste of this Prosecco, however, is pleasant. I trust that it will work for a large group of people. It has floral, lime and dried fruit notes on the nose, delivering well on the palate with lemon zest, tropical fruit, and brioche. Some pétillant is still evident on the palate. It finishes with a fresh lime note.
This wine could work well on its own, as a welcome drink, as a mixer or with starters.
