This wine is the fresher and brighter version of the Glen Carlou Chardonnay. This is because it was fermented in concrete tanks (as opposed to wooden barrels) and not matured in wooden barrels.
In the glass, this wine displays a pale-yellow colour that is bright. On the nose, it is forthcoming with lemon and lime. It has a good acidity and delivers the lemon and lime that it promises on the nose. Some notes of peaches also come forward as it develops. It is a fresh wine with a gripping acidity. The wine develops briefly and then leaves some notes of a flower bouquet and minerality behind.
The unwooded Chardonnay spent about 9 months on its lees, so it still has a soft mouthfeel. This is an ideal wine to have with its wooded counterpart, the Glen Carlou Chardonnay.
