Pulpit Rock Louisa Blend 2017

When someone who normally does not like a Cape blend ask for more, you should know that you have a winner. This wine is made up from a rather unusual combination of varieties, but they work together perfectly to create a fantastic blend!

This wine has a deep garnet colour with an intense nose of red berries, sweet tobacco and violets. It delivers even more on the palate with riper red and black berries, coffee and sweet spices. The tannins are gripping but ripe to create a rounded mouthfeel and the acidity and fruitiness are balanced well. The complexity of the blend develops well on the palate and it ends with a soft finish of tobacco and minerality.

This wine was truly a great wine that received much positive feedback when I presented it at a recent tasting. It is certainly one of the most interesting Cape blends that I have tried in a long time – I highly recommend that one try this wine out!
