The Rupert & Rothschild Baroness Nadine Chardonnay is one of the three wines by this well-known producer and the only white wine. Named after the co-founder of the winery, this Chardonnay is an exceptional example of what can be achieved with Chardonnay through careful vinification. This wine will stand out in any line-up or tasting.
In the glass, this wine has a golden-yellow appearance. It is forthcoming, fresh and complex on the nose (due to 11 months maturation in 33% first fill oak) with tropical fruit, citrus and vanilla. It delivers well on the palate, with a harmonious and creamy mouthfeel, grapefruit, lime, citrus blossom, hazelnuts and vanilla. It has a long, mineral and fresh finish.
This is a fantastic wine that should be served chilled well. It can be enjoyed on its own or with a creamy pasta or roasted chicken. It has a great ageing potential and can easily spend some time in the cellar for up to 15 years. It is a must-try wine for Chardonnay lovers.
