Stellenrust Clement de Lune Brut Rosé MCC NV

Writer's picture: Jaco MeyerJaco Meyer

The Stellenrust Clement de Lune Brut Rosé MCC is a great Cap Classique from Stellenbosch that is probably very underrated in the Cap Classique scene of South Africa. It is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, creating a very good combination of fruit, acidity, alcohol and creamy mousse.

In the glass, it has a pale pink colour and it is forthcoming on the nose, with hints of apple, citrus, stone fruit and berries. It has a fresh entry on the palate with notes of Granny Smith apples, lemon zest, red berries, white peach and freshly baked brioche. The bubbles are elegant and it ends with a fruity, fresh finish.

This wine is best served ice cold in a flute glass. It will be an ideal welcome drink on its own, but will also make a good companion to salmon or a fruity chicken salad. This wine overdelivers for its price and will certainly charm your guests. This wine is available from Partners in Wine.
