The Yethu White Blend is one of the most unique blends that you will find in South Africa, specifically due to the 37% Hárslevelü, a Hungarian grape variety, in the blend. It is a very fresh and aromatic wine, with clear notes of tropical fruit on the nose. It is light-yellow in the glass with a slight golden hue. The entry of this wine is elegant, fresh and fruit-forward. Interesting notes of quince, melon, guava, grapefruit and passionfruit play around against a fresh palate, with a bit more complexity of dried fruit and honeysuckle that develops shortly afterwards.
This is an ideal summer wine and should be served chilled. It can be enjoyed on its own, or with a pasta dish, fish, chicken or vegetarian burgers. It comes at a good price and is well worth a try, especially to try out this unique blend.
