Red around R50

The debate of price vs quality of wine is an ongoing debate, but it gets interesting when you start talking about wines around R50 a bottle... The aim of this tasting was to explore and score red South African wines that are around the R50 price mark and find a red wine that can be labelled as the ideal house wine for restaurants. This tasting was attended by members of the public, wine lovers, wine reps and sommeliers. You will be surprised to know what quality you can find in a R50 bottle of red wine!
